Sebastian Johann Whittaker, as known as “Sebbie,” was born on April 6, 1982, in London, England to his loving parents, Ivy-Renee (Edwards) Whittaker and Mark Whittaker. He passed away all too soon on February 20, 2024, in Jacksonville, NC, at the age of 41. After high school, Sebbie graduated from Healds Community College in San Francisco, CA with his Associates Degree in Computer Engineering with honors.
Sebbie was a man of many talents and interests. He excelled in his work as a Kitchen Prep and Cook at Duck’s Grille and Bar, showcasing his culinary skills to all who had the pleasure of tasting his creations. Beyond the kitchen, Sebbie was a computer genius, able to troubleshoot any tech problem with ease. His knack for fixing and building cars was unmatched, and his skills in construction were truly impressive – he could tackle any project with just a glance.
With a gifted mind and analytical thinking, Sebbie lived life on his own terms, always ready with a funny joke or witty remark to brighten the room. His Roman Catholic faith was important to him, as evidenced by his recent attendance at services just two weeks ago.
He leaves behind a loving family and friends who will cherish his memory dearly. In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory are his children, Ari Whittaker of CA and Evie Whittaker of England; his brother, Bradley Whittaker of Greenville; his sister, Natalie Clow and her husband, Jason, of Four Oaks; and his nephew, Avery Clow.
Services will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by the family.
Sebbie’s legacy will live on through the laughter he brought to those around him and the impact he made on all who knew him. Rest in peace, Sebbie, may your jokes continue to echo through the halls of Heaven.

He was truly the most beautiful soul I’ve ever known.. All of these are true, and more.. He was deeply loved and will be missed, but will always live in my heart. All of my love and prayers to his family. ❤️
You had a great heart. I will greatly miss the times we had together experimenting with cooking ideas and discussing the direction of computer technologies and their impacts on society. I’ve still got the can of Heinz beans you gave me in the cupboard to so that I could try out beans and toast for the first time. I wish I could do that and still relate to you my first experience trying out the snack that was a staple of your childhood which you had been excited to share with me. I will always appreciate the times I spent with you. Prayers and blessings to your family. You are missed.
