Robert F. Viands, 82, a/k/a “Bob” and also affectionately known as “Wata” by Family and Friends died in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington, NC on August 05, 2022.
Bob, son of the late Richard Moore Viands and Anne Allen Viands was born in Washington D.C. He was preceded in death by brother Richard Viands.
Survivors include his wife of 61 Years, Sarah; Daughters Candace Swaim (Mark)Winston-Salem NC, & Kimberly Tausch (Mike) of Jacksonville NC, Grandsons Justin Swaim (Mandy) of Tampa Fl., Chandler Swaim USAF Clovis NM, Austin Tausch (Taylor)USAF Shreveport LA, Noah Tausch of Raleigh NC, Great Grand-daughter Audrey Swaim, Brothers Charles Viands of Brandon Fl and George Viands of Asheville NC along with many loved Nieces and Nephews.
Bob served in the US Army from 1961-1963 and was stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC and Seoul Korea.
The Family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate and loving care given to Bob through the V/A Hospitals at Fayetteville NC and Durham NC and the loving support of the nursing staff and home health professionals of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests that Memorial Gifts be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington NC or to the American Bible Society.
