Adam was a beloved member of the Hampstead community for 6 years with many friends who became like family. He was an active member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church, serving with Vacation Bible School, men’s bible studies, and the welcome committee on Sunday mornings.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing from a young age, but recently had rekindled his passion for the sport. Adam worked out weekly with a group of men for health, but more importantly, fellowship. He loved NC State, being he graduated from there with a Civil Engineering degree. Traffic Engineering was something he had a passion for. Adam enjoyed reading and could spend hours sitting outside reading books. He enjoyed walking the beach with his wife and girls, watching all the sunsets, picking up Cindy’s favorite shells for her and looking for dolphins with the girls. He enjoyed a good family movie night, even with all the extras Cindy added in! Adam loved the adventures he and Cindy would plan for the girls and enjoyed making memories with them all.
Adam was an amazing, loving husband and dad. He and Cindy have been a wonderful example of love for their two girls. He was always supportive of all of Cindy’s ventures, whether it was cookie decorating or just creating fun moments for their children. Adam was a good friend to others. He built relationships with others and wanted to make them feel loved and welcomed. He raised his family with a Christian worldview and instilled Christian views into their lives. Adam loved the Lord and wanted to share his light with the world. His favorite verses were Philippians 4:4-9.
Adam is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Cindy Cates Snipes, and their daughters, Christina and Abigail Snipes, as well as his father and stepmother, Charles and Joyce Snipes of Selma, brother and sister inlaw, Greg and Kim Snipes of Winston Salem, nephews Will Snipes and Alec Snipes, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. Adam was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Snipes. He was also dearly loved by his wife’s family, the Cates, who will greatly mourn his passing.
