Alain Fabien Martin
July 17, 1991 - November 3, 2022

Alain Fabien Martin of Sunset Beach, NC, passed away on November 3, 2022 at the age of 31.

Fabien (as known by his friends and family) was born in Virginia Beach, VA to Alain Jean Martin and Rebecca Sue (Martin) Howell. He attended North Myrtle Beach High School.
He is survived by his father and stepmother Alain and Sylvie (Bureau) Martin, stepfather and mother Robert and Rebecca Howell, sister Prescella D. Duke, brother Paul Julien Martin, 4 nieces Ember and Sabine Enriquez, Alaina and Aubrey Duke. Fabien is pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents Frank and Mary Hill and his paternal grandparents Paul and Lucienne Martin. .

Fabien was in love with the outdoors since he was a child. He was kind and caring to all animals he ever came across, could identify any snake there was, and simply loved nature. He could walk for miles and not even realize it once he out there in his element. He was an amazing skateboarder as a teenager, and as he grew older he developed a committed passion for weightlifting and physical fitness.

What we will recall the most about Fabien is that when he loved you, he truly loved you with all his heart. When he gave you a hug, you really felt that hug. He was forever goofy, playful, and forever
young. We, as a family, will never get over the loss of not having your incredible smile and warm heart with us on this earth. It has been a long walk for you, one that we all shared with you in one way or another. Still, our love for you moves like the sea between the shores of our souls. We were blessed to call you ours, even if it was for a short time. We will carry your smile, your love, your memory in our hearts. You can now stop your long walk for you are home at last. Now you can fly – because you are truly free and you are loved in eternal grace.

“Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself. Love possesses not nor would it be possessed for love is sufficient unto love.”

A small celebration of life will be held for Fabien at Sunset Beach Park in Sunset Beach, NC on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00 pm for anyone wishing to attend.

Fabien was one of those friends that was always there for you and supported you and listened to you. I remember us riding around on skateboards talking about whatever came to our minds. He was such a good and close friend I’m so grateful I got to meet and hang out. Fabien I love you man, you’re like a brother to me. You’ll always have a spot in my heart for being one of the best friends I’ve ever had. I’ll keep skating for you buddy ❤️🤙🏻

It was a privilege to watch him grow as the youngest of Becky’s children. The last conversation I had with Fabien was a good one, We discussed many truths and theories about God, and how much he longed to know Him. He told me he loved me as I did him, and I know we both meant it. How I wish someone who had the means would have listened to his family, and gave him the help he deserved. Fabes, May you live forever! See you later
