*March 24, 1936 – June 11, 2024*

It is with both sadness and admiration that we announce the passing of Anna Marilyn Witzel, who left us peacefully on June 11, 2024, in Shallotte, NC, at the age of 88.

Born on March 24, 1936, in New York, NY, Anna lived a life marked by dedication, love, and an indomitable spirit. Her journey through life’s many roles was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family, the church, work, and personal well-being.

As a stay-at-home mother, Anna created a nurturing environment for her children, setting a sterling example through her hard work and boundless love. Later, she brought her diligence and meticulous attention to detail to her work in data entry for a local bank, where she was highly regarded for her precision and reliability.

Anna’s passions extended far beyond her professional life. A superb Italian cook, she delighted friends and family with her culinary masterpieces, turning every meal into a celebration. Her love for cooking wasn’t just about food; it was about bringing people together, sharing stories, and creating memories. Birthdays were particularly special under her care, as she had a unique talent for making every celebration feel extraordinary.

An advocate for healthy living, Anna enjoyed practicing yoga and teaching Zumba classes, inspiring others to embrace fitness and wellness. Her enthusiasm for healthy eating was reflected in her vibrant dishes that nourished both body and soul. Together with her beloved husband, Charles, she relished watching “America’s Test Kitchen,” always eager to explore new recipes and techniques.

Preceded in death by her cherished husband of 62 years, Charles Witzel Sr., and three siblings, Anna’s legacy of love and strength continues to shine through her surviving family. She leaves behind five devoted children: Lois, Michael, Christopher, Joanne, and Charles Jr.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her brother John Orfei and his wife, Ann.

Though there will be no services at this time, the spirit of Anna Marilyn Witzel will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a beautiful example of how to live fully, love deeply, and inspire others along the way.
