Antony Fidele Saturno

Tony was born in Rochester, New York. He graduated from the Aquinas Institute in Rochester and attended the University of Rochester in 1953. He earned his PhD in Chemistry from Carnegie Melon University in 1957.

He went on to teach chemistry at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville Tennessee and then relocated to Albany, New York. He taught at SUNY Albany as Prof. of chemistry for 30 years. He also served as chairman of the Chemistry department in his later career in Albany.
Tony is survived by his wife Susan of 33 years, four children (Amy/Stephen Kates , James/Cindy Saturno, Tilde Saturno and Bill/Jamie Saturno) and nine grandchildren( Olivia and Haley Kates,Tony, William, Dan, Michael, Cenzo, David and Giancarlo Saturno). He is survived by his six brothers and sisters (Robert Saturno, William Saturno, Patrick Saturno, James Saturno, Carolyn Barnhart and Anna Gaffney) and his two loyal companion dogs, Daisy and Sadie.

Tony was an avid reader. He loved playing computer games, watching movies and studying military history. He loved to play golf. He was an expert on vintage aircraft. He enjoyed his time at home and his time traveling. Tony was a brilliant man who had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and we were blessed to be in his presence over his 85 years.
