On July 27th, GNC lost its most valuable of MVPs, Arthur "Skip" Geach, Jr. Skip passed away at 70 years old with his two daughters, Rachelle and Wendy by his side after valiantly battling 3 cancers for less than one year.
After Skip’s retirement several years ago, he became a notable GNC professional purchaser, an unpaid IT technician, and a connoisseur of every movie and television show ever released, as well as a traffic adviser, and a life-advice giver.
Skip moved to North Carolina in March of 2017 to spend the last of his days with his daughters and grandchildren. More than a month before Skip’s passing, his family of brothers & sisters, sister-in-laws, and nieces all flew out to North Carolina to be by his side while Skip tried out his stand-up comedy routines for anyone who was near and for those who dared Face Timed with him. Skip took advantage of his surrounding family and friends to give, and to receive, as much love as possible… and for the free wheelchair rides.
Skip loved his family. All of them. He did have an extra special place in his heart for his three grandchildren, Maddie, Dylan, and Ava. No three other people brought so much joy to Skip’s face or his heart.
Skip’s family, especially his daughters and his grand-kids, will remember Skip (better known as Papa Skip) mostly by his goofiness, his ability to play, to keep up with, to be a good sport, and to simply be easy to spend time with. He always shared anything he had, with love.
Skip had an infectious laughter and a funny, funny sense of humor. A favorite look of Papa Skip’s was when he would make a face and ask, "Did you do that?!" Uncontrollable laughter always followed. Papa Skip was always making people laugh, or laughing at them. With them! Laughing "with" them!
Papa Skip will be missed tremendously.
A celebration of Skip’s life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at his brother and sister-in-law, Michael "Rusty" and Jeni Geach’s home of 26771 Garbani Rd., Menifee, CA 92584.
