Barry Michael Rose, of Little River, SC., (formerly of Virginia) passed away, Friday, June 14, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. He was 73. Barry was a simple, gentle man, slow to anger, fast to tell a joke. He rarely complained despite having health issues most of his life. He just wanted to fish and enjoy the time he had. Anyone who knew Barry would tell you what a kind-hearted person he was. He’d often meet someone for the first time and come away knowing their life’s history. And remember it the next time he saw them.
He was the best husband, father, friend, and fishing buddy one could ask for. There aren’t many people who could fill his shoes.
Barry was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine (Blackwell) Rose; sister, Judy Rose; in-laws; Betty Stewart and husband, Bob Stewart, Harry Murphy and wife, Claudia Murphy.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Terry (Murphy) Rose; his daughter, Dana (Rose) Bailey; son-in-law, Scott Bailey; granddaughter, Savannah Bailey; father, William Rose; sisters; Ella Hubbard and husband, Doug Hubbard, Anita Frazier and husband, Jack Frazier; brothers-in-law; Mike Murphy, Steve Murphy and wife, Susan Murphy, Tim Murphy and wife, Kasey Murphy, and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
A special thanks goes out to Kenny and Sandy Beach, Ella Hubbard, and all the many kind relatives, friends, and neighbors who have helped throughout the years.
There are no funeral services at this time. In lieu of flowers, Barry would have loved for you to go out and catch a fish (and release it) or donate to a food bank or church of your preference.
Arrangements are in the care of Coastal Cremations of Carolina Shores.

Barry and Kenny grew up together and were more like brothers than first cousins. Listening to them tell their stories of growing up together was always so much fun and there was so much laughter. Their closeness never waned…. from childhood to each other’s wedding’s, to the later years, their bond grew stronger and stronger. We know there are no words that can ease the pain of Barry’s passing, we will miss him too. Wishing you, Dana and family comfort and peace to face the days ahead and loving memories to hold in your heart. Sending love and hugs. Kenny and Sandy
my deepest sympathies to you and your mother. I remember when your father would come down to the Palace of Sweets/Palace Cafe to drop you off or to get your mother. Prayers for you and your dear mom.
Dana…I am so sorry to hear of your loss. You are in my thoughts. Sending you and your family love.
