Beverly (Edwards) McLaughlin, better known as “Ms. Bev.,” 66, of Jacksonville, previously of Mooringsport, LA, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023. She was born in Edinburg, TX on Friday, August 31, 1956 to the late Mary Adelaide Mutz and Elbert Jackson Edwards. After high school, she spent her career cleaning homes and managing a mobile home community. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, fishing and taking care of everyone else.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mary Austen “Mikki” Jackson and her husband, Ryan, Matthew Johnston and Jeremy Baker; sister, Cindy Coleman and her husband, Jimmy; brother, Roger Edwards and his wife, Kerry; sister in-law, JeriAnne; longtime friend, Daniel Strain; and her beloved dogs, Soldier and Sadie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Edwards.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 4:00 pm at the Jackson Household.

To know Ms. Bev. is to know how stubborn and strong she was; having raised her kids alone, she was a devoted single mother. She loved all animals, especially birds and her dogs. Although we are sad, we also find peace in knowing Beverly was looking forward to this day so she could see her mom again.

    Dear family,

My heart aches from the grief that you are suffering.
Knowing of God’s embracing love for you, continue looking to him when ” He will wipe out all tears from our eyes, death, pain, and suffering will be no more. ” – Revelation 21: 3,4
He says death is an ” enemy that will be brought to nothing. ” 1 – Corinthians 15:26
It comforts our hearts to know this pain will be a thing of the past and through Christ the resurrection of our loved ones.
We ” do not sorrow just as the rest do who have no hope! ” 1 Thessalonians 4:13

    love from a stranger,
