Bobby Ray Johnson age 81 of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. peacefully passed away on April 10th 2018 at home with his loving wife by his side.
Bobby was born in Spencer NC to the late Grady H Johnson and Susie Beck Johnson. He was preceded in death by two brothers Buck Johnson and Charles Johnson; two sisters Eileen Roberts and Frances James; as well as his father and mother in-law, Roy C. Jones and Modena Jones.
Bobby is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 61 years Marlene M. Johnson; son David R. Johnson and daughter Donna J. Marshall (Tommy) and brother Leonard Johnson as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews: and his loyal companion Ginger, the family dog.
Bobby lived most of his life in Greensboro, NC working as Produce Manager for the A&P and Harris Teeter grocery stores until he retired to Ocean Isle Beach NC in 1999. He loved living at the coast and enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and reading, as well as continuing to work part time at Lowes Foods.
One of Bobby’s greatest pleasures was being with his family and having gatherings at the family beach house.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 2 pm at Glenwood Presbyterian Church, 1205 Glenwood Ave. Greensboro, NC in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lower Cape Fear Hospice 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington NC 28401.

Marlene, I am so heartbroken for your loss. You all have been like family to me for so many years and Bobby will be missed very much. Remember Bobby ( Mr Johnson ) well , very sorry for your loss. Being friends with David and Donna Mr and Mrs Johnson were part of my childhood.
I have known you guys almost my entire life & love you as my family & I will miss Bobby so much. You are in my thoughts & prayers always & I love you guys so much.
