C.F. “Sam” Simoneaux
November 9, 1936 - January 17, 2022

C.F. “Sam” Simoneaux, 85, of Jacksonville NC, passed away at his home on Monday, January 17,2022. A native of Greenwood, MI, he was the husband of Aimee (Peterson) Simoneaux for 39 years, and the son of the late Wilbur and Isabelle (Chaisson) Simoneaux.

He spent most of his childhood and early adult years living in Cullman, AL, where he obtained a degree in accounting, and then decided to join his beloved Marine Corps at his first opportunity. He served in the USMC for 16 years, traveled the world, and served his country as a Master Gunnery Sargent in Vietnam. He later found his calling in the concrete industry, where he spent the following 42 years covering the Carolinas and making friends all along the way.

In addition to his wife, left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Nory Simoneaux (Paul Bergin) of Wilmington, Kelly Simoneaux of Jacksonville, Meghan Simoneaux of Pittsburgh, PA and Erin Simoneaux also of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Dick Simoneaux of AZ; grand-son, Graham; and his beloved grand-dog, Arnold.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sonny Simoneaux.

“His girls”, wife, and grandson were his top priorities, and always went above and beyond for them. He gave them the world, and made it look easy. He was the definition of a well-respected and well-connected businessman, and an even better family man. He lived a long and fulfilled life, surrounded by people who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Coastal Cremations and Funeral Care, Jacksonville.

Aimee, Nory, Kelly, Meghan and Erin, I was so saddened to receive the call from Kelly about Sam’s passing. He has been not only a great friend but also a “second father figure” to me since I first met him at the Ideal Cement plant back in 1982. We have shared some GREAT times together and I feel so fortunate to have been his friend. I drove down and had lunch with him at the Golden Coral a few weeks back and I am so thankful for that time together. I will surely miss him but will treasure all of the good times we shared talking about “his girls”, My thoughts and prayers will be with you all. RIP my dear friend and remember….Semper Fi!
