Carol Jean (Adams) Arehart went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at her home in Sneads Ferry, NC at the age of 84. She was born on December 28, 1939, in Scranton, PA to the late Alexander Adams and Irene (Cole) Adams. She led a life full of devotion to the ones she loved.
A devoted homemaker, Carol was a loving mother who took great pride in raising her children and tending to her home and her pets. Her immaculate home and landscaped yard were always a source of great pride to her. Carol’s talents extended beyond homemaking and decorating, she was also a gifted painter who taught art classes, inspiring others to find joy through creativity.
Carol resided in Bel Air, MD, before moving to Sneads Ferry, NC where she became an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. She delighted in tending to the nursery and contributed to the Church’s Bazaar Craft Fair, with proceeds supporting local charities. Her giving nature made her a cherished member of her church family and community.
Surviving Carol is her loving husband, David Arehart. She is also survived by her children: Scott Shotto (Leigh) of Fallston, MD, Heather Leonard (Jack) of Clarksville, MD and Brian Shotto (Shannon) of Key West, FL. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Courtney Mitchell (Reed), Brett Leonard (Catherine), Drew Leonard (Laura), Caroline Antinozzi (Mike), Brooke Leonard (fiancé Noah) and Victoria Diaz (Sal); and her great-grandchildren: Paige Leonard, Juliet Leonard, Troy Leonard, Greta Leonard, Aubrey Leonard, Reese Leonard, Emily Leonard, Grace Mitchell, Evelyn Mitchell, Joey Antinozzi, Charlotte Antinozzi, Sophia Diaz and stepson Dave Arehart (Liz), stepdaughter Marcia Powers (Jeff) and their families.
To know Carol is to know she was a homebody who found joy in the quiet moments of life; she will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, painter, animal lover and great friend with a giving and humble spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date back home in Maryland, where family and friends will gather to honor her life that touched so many.
