Charles Stephen Paxton, better known as Steve, 64, of Sneads Ferry, NC passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022. Born Tuesday, November 12, 1957 in Roanoke, VA he was the loving husband to Melissa Bates Paxton for 25 years, and the son of the late Thomas Leroy Paxton and Ann Marie Harrison Paxton. After graduating high school, he went on to serve his career as a police officer for the Norfolk Police Department.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children, Stacy Robinson and her husband, Bryan of Lancaster, CA, Seth Paxton of Portsmouth, VA, Matthew Paxton of Sneads Ferry, NC and Clay Paxton also of Sneads Ferry, NC; grandchildren, Justin, Vivian, Bryan, and Serena; sister, Sharon Eddins of Chesapeake, VA; brother, Jeffrey Paxton of Suffolk, VA; and his pets that he adored, Sancho, Necio, Whiskey and Cali.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Frances “Han-Han” Moynihan.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm at 1472 Bridge Point Trail, Suffolk, VA 23432.
To know Steve, is to know how much of a dedicated family man he was. He was a reserved, soft-spoken person who was devoted to loving his wife and raising his 4 children who he was so proud of.

Steve was a great police officer and friend to many. I always remember the smile he had for everyone he met. My prayers are thoughts are with his family and friends.
