Creed Fulton Walton III passed away peacefully in Hampstead North Carolina at exactly 5:25pm on October 18th 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Creed F. Walton III was born in Darlington South Carolina on March 3rd 1943 to Creed F Walton Sr. and Loma Edith “Maggie” Williams Phillips.
He was an accomplished musician, loved to sing in church, fish, and all outdoor activities. He was a Minister, former Chaplain, Sunday School Teacher, served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Randolph CVS- 15 , built houses with his father in S.C., and for the majority of his life Mr. Walton worked with his hands as a master carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his brother Earl Gene Walton of Patrick S.C. which passed in 2016, and his sister Rose Walton Hatcher of Wilmington N.C. passing in 2007. His oldest daughter Sharon Walton Guenther passed earlier this year on March 24th.
He is survived by three children: Timothy Fulton Walton of Cleveland S.C., Edith Darlene Walton-Gates of Darlington S.C., and Michael Brooks Walton(Crystal) of Hampstead N.C.. He has nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.
The family would also like to express special thanks and gratitude towards Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care as well as Nurse Kimberly Smith, and Chaplain services provided by Mr. Miles.
Services will be closed to immediate family only.
