Curtis James Robinson, Sr., 54, of Sunset Beach; died May 15, 2017, at 11:30 p.m. He was at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, in Bolivia, North Carolina.
Born December 04, 1962, Curtis was the son of the late Willie Watts and the late Maddie Louise Robinson.
Curtis attended Fox Middle School in Hartford, CT; West Brunswick in Shallotte, NC, then he transferred to Stanford University of California. After graduation, Curtis continued his education earning credits in both accounting and culinary arts.
Curtis worked many different occupations such as insurance sales, the Hartford News, stadium and sports facilities; he also was an entrepreneur in the clothing industry and established his own lawn & pressure washing business in North Carolina.
Curtis studied many different religions ranging from Moorish Science Temple, to the Nation of Islam; before joining Holy Bethel Fire Baptized Church of God of the Americas.
On February 21, 2014, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Minister Dever Johnson.
In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his younger brother, Willie Robinson; and nephew, Reggie Robinson.
He leaves three children to celebrate his legacy: Monique Frihk of New Jersey, Tiffany Robinson and Curtis Robinson Jr., both of East Hartford, CT; six grandchildren: Quannesha Lockhart, Ashantee Outlaw, Oshanea Barnes, and Shyhiem Davis of New Jérsey; Leslie and Navaeh Robinson of East Hartford, CT; two great grandkids: Kyrie Bell and Taylor Hansford of New Jersey; his sister, Gwendolyn (Miles) Robinson of Longwood, NC; one brother: William "Tim" Robinson of Hartford, CT; a stepfather, Willie Cupe of Longwood, NC; three uncles: Louie and Tommy Robinson, Howard (Alastine) Robinson, all of Hartford, CT; a mother-in-law, Lina Johnson; adopted family: Michael ( Sara ) Gore and Cornelius Grissett of Longwood, NC; special friend: Jeff "DC" Thomas of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
