David Paul Codair
November 11, 1954 - January 28, 2023

David Paul Codair passed on to his next journey, January 28, 2023. David’s love for music & peace, kept him traveling with guitar in hand. Many states and stops along the way. Dave never met a stranger. Touching people thru his musical gift and the determination to keep peace and love a priority in his everyday life.
Quebec City, Los Vegas, “off the wall places” in his home state of California, were among his favorites.
However, his favorite stop was the southernmost city, Key West. David’s years there were blessed with great music, warmth, and friends.
David met Karen there, and their love for life and each other blossomed. Married in 1988, on Valentine’s Day, they were united to grow their love together. Dave had met Karen at ‘Pete’s Fish Market’ and told everyone “he got the catch of the day.” His humor and peacefulness kept Karen & Dave friends for approx. 40 years.
Their love grew stronger, with the blessing of two sons, Donovan & Dustin. Both boys have a strong admiration of David’s gifts of love and music. Both of Dave’s children have these same gifts. The children are musically inclined, like their pop, and their love for society unconditional.
Donovan and Dustin proudly share the family name with Dave’s grandchildren, Karter and Arabella.
With God by their sides, Karen, was honored to watch David peacefully begin his journey of more love.
Dave tried hard to get to CA to see his mom, Iulis, and his 2 sisters Cheryl and Tina and their families. I am certain that CA was his first stop. Dave did not see his family much but looking into his eyes, you knew where he spiritually was.
Dave would like to acknowledge the persons that made impacts on his life… There were so many! Debbie Tramell, Syngin his buddy, Clairice who amused him and kept him smiling, Miguel and Los Portales for their support of his music; and Shane Brennan that always had a smile and music for Dave. The French connection of KW. My family as they always cared for Dave and treated him like a forever brother. Dave has a gift to keep people laughing, learning and singing.
Molly and Korall whom he loved as he could be himself. Also knowing his boys were loved by two strong, great woman.
Throw the peace sign up, listen to a song, and pay it forward. Until we meet again, you will forever be in our hearts.
