Debra Louise Sweeney
October 31, 1951 - March 16, 2023

Mrs. Debra (Debbie) Sweeney, 71, of Sunset Beach, NC died peacefully and surrounded with love on
March 16, 2023. Born in Dover on Oct 31, 1951, Mrs. Sweeney was a longtime resident of Roxbury, NJ
until retiring to Sunset Beach in 2012. She was the practice administrator for Cardiology Consultants of
North Morris in Mountain Lakes, NJ for many years. She was a 1969 graduate of West Morris High
School and later attended the County College of Morris. While working at Jersey Central Power and
Light, Debbie met her future husband, Larry Sweeney. In their life together, Debbie and Larry were
married for 47 years, made many close friendships and were blessed to raise three children. Debbie’s
greatest joys were her family, the beach, traveling, playing cards and board games, rooting for the Mets,
singing with the Ocean Ridge Singers, watching brilliant sunsets and, most of all, her six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Adelaide Robbe, in-laws Edward and Iva Sweeney, her brothers-in-
law Kenneth and Gary Sweeney, her sister-in-law Christine Sweeney, nephew Joshua Fazzino and niece
Beth Sweeney.
Debbie is survived by her beloved husband, Larry E. Sweeney; son Shannon and his wife Michele,
daughter April and her husband Michael, daughter Meagan and her husband Travis; her grandchildren
Finn, Elsa, Luella, Ames, Miles and Adelyn; sisters Donna Ebenstein and her husband Donald and Dawne
Fazzino and her husband John; sister-in-law Linda Scherzer and her husband Doug, sister-in-law Anne
Sweeney, nieces Kelly, Tracy, Jennifer, Jodi, Terri, Taira and nephew Kevin as well as many cousins, and
beloved friends. We will forever remember Debbie for her kind heart, beautiful smile, infectious laugh
and utmost love of family. May she rest now and forever in peace. A celebration of Debbie’s life will
take place in Sunset Beach at a future date.

Love that picture of her showing her beautiful smile. I have so many years of wonderful memories with Debbie and will cherish them all. She made we laugh, she made me cry but mostly she made me happy just being her dear friend. I love her so much and will think of her always! And, yes, we will help look after Larry and her beautiful family who we also love! 💕💕💕
