Donald D. Corpora, age 70, passed away peacefully in succession to his encounter with cancer on Friday
August 9, 2019 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born November 12, 1948 in
Bronx, NY to Anthony and Anne Corpora. His commitment to serving his country and his fellow man in
the U.S. Army and 30 years of public service with the U.S. Postal Service – a commendable
accomplishment and will forever be admired. He lived his life with one small success at a time beginning
with the very moment upon awaking each day until laying to rest at night. For him success was never the
end, and failure was never the beginning, but milestones in between which summon the courage to
follow through on ones journey. Donald was a devote Roman Catholic and maintained his faith while
seizing every moment of quality time with his family who he unconditionally adored and proudly
supported. Family was the cornerstone of his life and he safeguarded the link that bound them together
and never took for granted the differences which kept them apart. His emphatic encouragement for
spending time together was infectious. He was a man of many words, and an entertainer at heart who
embellished any opportunity to grace the stage with his knowledge, wisdom, and humor for the sake of
lifting anyone in need. A genuinely amazing husband, father, and man who lead an unbelievable life.
Donald is preceded by his parents Anthony and Anne Corpora; his son Christopher; his brothers Charlie,
Anthony, John and Dennis; and his sisters Ginny and Ellen-Jane. He is survived by his loving wife of 43
years Mitzy; his son Anthony and his wife Stacia, son Jason and his wife Kristy; grandsons Clay, Dustin,
and Blane; brothers Eddie with wife Cathy, James with wife Anna Marie; sisters Joanne with husband
Dick Bounaparte, Rosie, Eileen, Celeste, and Anne with husband Jeff Stahala; many nieces, nephews,
cousins and he will be missed by many friends. A ceremony will be held 2:00 pm Thursday Aug. 15 at Lee
Funeral Home with a gathering to follow at the Little River Elks Lodge in Little River. Any donations can
be made in lieu of flowers to Embrace Hospice House 175 Village Center Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.
Arrangements are in the care of Coastal Cremations.
