Earl Wayne Johnson
August 3, 1947 - June 18, 2018

Earl Wayne Johnson, age 70, of Wilmington passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

He was born August 3, 1947 in Fayetteville, North Carolina the son of the late Earl Thomas Johnson and Violet Gertrude Martin. He is also preceded in death by one great grandchild.

Wayne owned Johnson Motor Company a second-generation automotive sales company in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He loved to go fishing, find a great deal at a thrift store or flea market, NASCAR and make beautiful ceramics. Wayne never met a stranger and his talkative, easy going and friendly nature made him many good friends. He will be missed dearly by his family and loved ones.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Connie Johnson of the home; son, Wayne Johnson and wife Silver of Fayetteville, NC; daughters, Kathy Johnson of Wilmington, Jackie West and husband Johnny and Violet Young and husband Erick both of Stedman, NC; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
