Edna Patricia Monroe
January 3, 1941 - September 22, 2024

On the 22nd of September, 2024 at 83 years of age, Edna P. Monroe transitioned into the arms of the father.

She was born on January 3, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to Edwin Monroe & Lila Mallory Monroe Miller. She graduated from Boys and Girls High School, Brooklyn, NY. She went on to become a fashion model, seamstress and buyer for Macy’s, Alexander’s and Bloomingdale’s. Her final career was with the state of New York as a mental health aid.

Throughout the seasons of her life she found love with Robert, Barry Sr. and Ezekiel. From these unions she had four children, Damian (deceased), Rona, Barry, Jonathan and Kevin. She was also blessed with a host of grandchildren: Simone, Kevin, Kyle, Andre, Brett, Rama, Josh, Kya, Matthew, and Tyler. Great grand children are India, Jabari, Gabe and Mason. Her surviving siblings are Lila aka Boots and Daryl. In addition, Edna’s memory will be cherished by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from New York to Hertford, NC to Wilmington, NC.
