Eileen G. Simonton of Calabash, NC passed away at the age of 59 on Sunday, December 15, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Detroit, MI and spent most of her childhood in North Carolina.
Eileen was an avid golfer and loved taking weekend trips to play new courses with her husband, Wil. She loved spending all of her free time with her family and friends. She had numerous hobbies including her new found love of art, though her most precious times were spent with her family and friends, and spoiling her two grandchildren!
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard R. Miller and Geraldine C. Miller of Alabama. Eileen is survived by her husband, Samuel “Wil” Simonton, daughters Jana Smith of Ozark, AL, Megan S. Pomeroy (Robert) of Eufaula, AL, and Kelly Tyler of Knoxville, TN, and son Kyle Simonton (Lacie) of Franklin, TN, sisters Sharon Poovey (Mark) of Wrightsville Beach, NC, Susan Ratcliff (Wayne) of Winston-Salem, NC, Elizabeth Eberhart of Calabash, NC, twin Katie Warmath (Bill) of Greensboro, NC, brother Bernie Miller of Winston-Salem, NC, sister in law Jane Hendrickson (Kent) of Harlan, KY, Sally Simonton of Lexington, KY, Granddaughters Amelia Pomeroy and Mikyla Tyler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive visitors an Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 2-4 pm at 9323 Honey Tree Lane, Calabash, NC 28467.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks yo Lower Cape Fear Hospice for providing care for Eileen in the final months of her life.
Arrangements are in the care of Coastal Cremations, Carolina Shores, NC.

Eileen was such a super person to be around. Working with her and Wil was such a great time! She was always in the gym working out, and would chat it up about fitness. She will be missed greatly! Terrific lady!
I enjoyed working with Eileen and her husband, Wil, in NM. Her smile was truly contagious and her love for golf was unprecedented. I am sending my deepest condolences to her entire family. Eileen will be missed by so many people.

This is a sad time for all who were lucky enough to get to share some time with her and call her our family or friend. . She was such a dynamic human being and what a zest for life! She touched so many people’s lives in such a positive way. Like no other. Rest in peace Eileen and know a piece of our hearts will belong to you forever. I’ll catch you on the other side some day soon. Lets have a glass of wine and catch up..It’s been too long.
