Eileen M Ahrens (my mom), 89, of Southport, passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2020. She was born on April 5, 1930 to the late Marguerite and John Marischen (fantastic grandparents).
Eileen was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy, which broke her heart but her strong faith always prevailed. She is survived by a daughter, Marcia and son-in-law Geoff White, two grandsons, Brian and Jason White, and her great-granddaughter Emma White. She was a hands-on, always involved, loving mother and grandmother and she will be dearly missed by her family.
She was also survived by many dear friends, including, one who described her as “one of the most unselfish, kind, generous and loving persons I’ve ever known and a brick in her trust in God’s provision, not only for her own family, but for all mankind”.
A private family service will take place at our family’s gravesite in Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, please send any contributions to either: The First Church of Christ, Scientist, 250 Massachusetts Ave, Boston, MA 02115 or to: Lower Cape Fear Life Care, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

Part of me almost began to say, “What a loss for us all!” I then stopped short KNOWING that nothing about Eileen can ever be truly lost, for it seems. everything about her life demonstrated a loving non-judgementalmental attitude and her strong belief in the goodness of each person she encountered, Her presence often carried with it a healing message that we each are made in God’s image and for a very special reaon. Her qualities of being a spiritually beautiful, strong. courageous, talented, intelligent, over-the-top loving friend, she will also be remembered as a mom and grandmom who adored her family. Their obvious caring and endearing commitment brought her much joy.and purpose. These qualities are carried on.forever. What her Life represents is a model to behold.
She is alive in the body of the Christ.
