Fred Douglas Parker, 73, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at home. Fred was born to George and Edna Parker on July 1st, 1951 in Mt. Olive, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife Teresa Parker, his son Wesley Parker and his wife Allison, his daughter Teasha Clark and her husband Jeff, his two Grandsons, Andrew and Griffin Clark, his brother George Parker Jr. and his wife Fran, and his sister Betty Lou Bradsher and husband Sammy. He also leaves behind his two dogs, Rowdy and Rosey, all who will miss him dearly.
Fred was a man who deeply cared for his family. There wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for them, no matter the cost. He was one of those men who would not hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. Fred was a man who was very strong in his faith, and lived a life he thought was fitting for a Christian man. Fred never met a stranger, and there was rarely an outing where he didn’t run into someone he knew. Fred loved the beach, evident by his notoriously dark tan. Fred had a passion for muscle cars, buying, selling, and fixing up many of them over the years. He even held his own car show at the Wilmington Convention Center. He had a love for racing whether that be drag racing or NASCAR. He also enjoyed collecting guns, and watching historical shows and movies.
Fred’s biggest pride was his family. He never missed a chance to brag on or talk about his wife, children, or grandchildren. He loved us all very deeply, and we will all miss him very much.
Arrangements are in the care of Coastal Cremations, 6 Jacksonville Street, Wilmington, NC 28403.

We will miss Fred. Fred was such a great neighbor. Our thoughts and prayers go to you and your family.
My heart was broken when Teresa called and told me he had passed….We have been more than friends….our lives have been intertwined since our sons met in kindergarten 26 years ago….their family has been like family to us and the similarities in our lives….proves to me it was all God’s plan….There was nothing that Fred would not do for you…..and Teresa has been the sister I never had….If there is one thing I know….Fred is in heaven….he loved the Lord with all of his heart….Its so hard on the people left behind but I’m sure he is singing with the angels…..
We are grateful for the couple of hours spent at dinner with Theresa and Fred before we left for New York back in May. We are going to miss Fred’s sense of humor and the many la
Laughs we had in our garage !!! Fred was a very kind, generous and good neighbor who would do anything for you. Our prayers go out to Theresa, Wesley and all the family .
Fred was my brother and he was a very good person. I will miss him very much and so will many others. God will make room for Fred in God’s Home.
I want to add a comment about my brother. Fred spent two years with the Michigan Air National Guard as a Fuel Systems Specialists on the F100 D/F Super Sabre Jet Fighter. Fred was stationed at Selfridge ANG Base in Mt. Clemens with the 127th TFW. Fred also volunteered to go to Germany to support the aircraft on a two week squadron deployment.
We were saddened to hear the bad and good news about Freddy. Bad in that he is no longer here with his family and loved ones, yet happy in that all of us who loved the Lord as Freddy did will see him again for eternity. We did not make a lot of memories in his latter days but Bobby has a lot of stories he can tell of their younger days. Praying each new day brings the family a peace and comfort that only Jesus can give during times like this.
I want to offer my condolences to Family and Friends. Rest in Peace Uncle Fred.
My deepest sympathy to the Parker family. I only met Fred once and I enjoyed hearing many family stories! May he be at peace with our Lord.
