
Gail Ann Thomas, 73, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 peacefully at her home in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Gail was born on June 15, 1944 in Richmond, MI. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her mother Alberta Hicks, father Wilfred Hicks, sisters Gloria Verlinde, and Gwen Tucker, brother Clifford Hicks, and brother Greg Hicks.
Survivors include the love of her life James (Jim) Thomas of the home, brothers John Hicks, and Louis (Tom) Hicks, sister-in-law Florence (Boots) Hicks, son Scott Burge, daughter Carol Hosmer, step daughter Tina Lantz, step son James Thomas, Jr., step son-in-law Jason Lantz, daughter in-in-law Elizabeth Burge, step daughter-in-law Emily Thomas, grandson Bret Horne, granddaughter Robin Williams, granddaughters Candice Burge, Alis Burge, step grandson Corran Thomas, step grandson Jaecen Thomas, step grandson Dean Lantz, step granddaughter Clare Sevcik, step granddaughter Haley Lantz, grandson-in-law Marcus Williams, and loving friend JoAnn Jackson, as well as other family members and friends that she loved very much.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 5 pm at the Burge residence, 40 Sanders Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412. Family and friends are welcome to join and celebrate the beautiful life of our beloved Gail.
Arrangements are in the care of Coastal Cremations, Carolina Shores.

She was filled with a lot of love,could turn a mess into something beautiful,and smiled with her wholeself!!! Lots of love and comfort to all family and friends. Aunt Gail I’m truly happy you are finally at peace and now our special guardian angel for life.
She was a beautiful lady filled with such a unique personality you couldn’t help but love her, through all of her pain and suffering she always smiled and remained positive, I feel honored to have been a friend and may she fly high with the angels and watch over us with her compassion and love.
