Gary Wayne Smith went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 2, 2024.

Gary worked at Pat’s Tire and Auto for over 30 years.  He loved hunting and fishing with his lifelong friend Murphy Williams. He lived his life to the fullest and family meant everything to him. Gary was a devoted Father and Grandfather.

Gary attended Calvary Wallace Church.

Gary was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Manning and Alma Hyatt, paternal grandparents Lenny and Carrie Smith, mother Ollie Hyatt Smith, father Charles Coleman Smith (Smitty), brother Charles Coleman Smith, Jr., and brother Timothy Jay Smith.

Gary is survived by his daughter Candice Beth Smith (Alex) of Burgaw, NC, one grandchild Joycelind Alexandria, his sister Kim Watkins (Bobby), twin brother Larry Brunson-Smith (Joseph), nieces and nephews Starr Anders (Jason), Jeremy Russell (Bibiana), Joshua Russell (April) Captain T.C. Smith (Becca), great nieces and nephews Jocelyn Russell, Austin Anders, Jacob Russell, Zoe Anders, Jyler Russell, Coleman Smith, a special aunt Myrtle Long and a host of cousins that he loved dearly.

The family will gather at 4607 Long Leaf Hills Drive, Wilmington, NC.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday November 9, 2024, at 1001 Balcombe Road, Rocky Point with the family receiving friends at 10:00 am.
