Dr. Gary William Dickson, 84, of Sunset Beach and Shallotte, NC passed away October 31, 2022.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) Dickson and Vallie Davis Dickson, also his wife Inger Eriksson.
Gary was Professor Emeritus of University of Minnesota and North Carolina State University where he taught in the Business School. Gary retired to Sunset Beach, NC and continued to travel. He enjoyed road trips and long drives as well as international travel to Europe, especially Finland. Locally, you could find him golfing or at a favorite restaurant.
He is survived by his partner, Sharon Conway, his son, Scott Dickson and a daughter Mariel Dickson Milito, a granddaughter Emma Milito and his ex-wife Linda Hammond Dickson.

Gary had a life changing impact on me when we met in the early 90s during his sabbatical to Delft. His mentorship and friendship laid the foundation for my academic career, as he has done for so many others. I am forever grateful for his kindness and guidance. May he rest in peace. My condolences to his children and loved ones.
