George Edgar Jones of Leland North Carolina passed away peacefully Friday July 29, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington. He was born in Detroit Michigan. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and then served in the U. S. Air force during the Korean War. He continued to serve his country as a nuclear inspector for the U.S. Navy while running a dairy farm in Jefferson, Ohio. George was an active and loyal member of the Episcopal Church. He was proceeded in death by his wife Suzanne Jones both of his parents and two of his sisters. He is survived by His sister Juanita Pardue: 5 children, Richard and Jackie Jones, Robert and Wendy Jones, Katherine and Jeff Smith, Stephen and Lisa Jones and Leanne and George Bell, His Grand children: Alyssa, Heather, Bobby, Ali, Chris, Matthew, Adam, Bradley, Cory, Ashley, Alex, Jeff, Andy, George. Great grandchildren: Nathanial, Briend Connor, Joseph, Melena, Ethan, Kyle, James, Carson, Rosslyn, Caelie, Ellie, and Micah. George Enjoyed wood working auto mechanics and motorized model airplanes. He was like my own dad… once asked him “which one is the Bull?”… his response was so embarassing to a city girl… Love you dad… we miss you so much
