Gregory Williams
March 1, 1949 - March 31, 2022

Gregory Walter Williams, 73, of Shirley, NY, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022. Born March 1, 1949, he was the widower of Catherine Arlene O’Toole Williams whom he was married to for over 46 years. He was the son of the late Edward Williams and Gertrude Schultz Williams. He was a devoted father to Alisha, Gregory, and Sean Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Alisha Williams, and Sean Williams; grandchildren, Chloe, Sean, and Sofia; sisters, Holly and Susan; brothers, Raymond and Ronnie; his many nieces and nephews, and by his beloved dog, Zeus.

After high school, he joined the United State Marine Corps. He proudly served our country during the Vietnam War, having been awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart Medal for his sacrifice during combat. After serving his country in Vietnam, he worked for 20 years and retired from the United States Postal Service. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family-boating, fishing, and anything to be near the water.

To know Greg is to know how much he loved his family and joking around with them. He had a witty sense of humor making you wonder when he was being serious or not. We will remember his words of advice, no matter what the situation was, he’d often say, “Do what makes you happy.” He will be forever missed by all his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life is planned for this summer and will be announced by the family.
