Harold R. McBain of Little River, SC passed away on April, 8th, 2019 at the age of 94. He was born McConnellsville, N.Y. In 1924. Was a graduate of Camden High and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Ike was a Transit Trucking Supervisor for Rome Cable, retired in 1986 after 38 years.
Ike was preceded in death by his wife of of 50 years, Mary Hill McBain and his son, Timothy McBain. And survived by Timothy’s wife Susan McBain. Also his siblings, Judith Emper, Horace “Bud” McBain, Mae McBain, Charles McBain, Marge Oleynick, And his sister Marilynn who still resides in Texas.
Ike is survived by his daughter Cynthia Bunal, her Husband James Burial, and their son J. Casey Bunal. Also, Cynthia’s son, Thomas Bonavita, his wife Jessica Bonavita, and their three children, Chariee, Thomas the IV, and Juliet.
Ike is also survived by his youngest daughter, Cheryl McBain and her wife Deanna Ferris, who reside in Arnold California.
He is also survived by his longtime friend Keitha Webb.
Ike enjoyed hunting and fishing. He has a lifetime love of baseball, playing for many years. He became a well respected Umpire, covering games from little league to college level. An avid golfer, he was member at McConnellsville Country Club. He was natural at the sport, playing well into his nineties with his daughters.
He enjoyed the love of family, and was a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ike was generous with his time and energy, serving the community by being involved with the Democrat club, the Elks, Traffic Club and Civil Defense.
Ike was kindhearted and was always ready to help others. He had a gentle spirit, and was quick witted. He knew many poems and jokes by heart, which will be remembered by those who where close to him.
