Jack D. Evans, 86, of Oak Island, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Wilmington. A native of Yancey County, son of Will and Reva Evans.
Surviving are his wife, Ann, of 62 years, and two daughters: Debra Evans and Donna Van Trigt. Two Grandchildren: William Van Trigt and Andi, and Lauren Van Trigt.
He retired from GE with 35 years of service and was a long standing member of the Skyland Volunteer Fire Department, Biltmore Masonic Lodge #466, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
The Family would like to express thanks to Brookdale Alzheimer Memory Care Facility of Wilmington, and Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Special Care Givers.
A memorial service will be held at Groce Funeral Home in Arden, NC, on Saturday October 15th at 1:00P.M. The family will receive friends and loved ones 1 hour prior to the service. Graveside Services will immediately follow at Calvary Episcopal Church in Fletcher, NC
A memorial service will also be held on Oak Island at OIEPC at a later date, where he was a loyal member.
The family would like to extend thanks to the members of the Skyland Fire Department and the Biltmore Masonic Lodge for their assistance in the memorial services.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to NC Alzheimers Association and the Hospice Center of your choice.
