James Thomas Jeter, 76, of Holly Ridge, NC, while surrounded by his family, met the Lord on August 20, 2020.
Jim, a North Carolina native, was born in Gastonia on January 27, 1944. He served in the United States Air Force and the United States Navy, he also worked as a government contractor. Jim retired from DOD Navy, Civil Service in Washington, DC in 1996. Jim was a memeber of Haw River Christian Church in Haw River, NC and very passionately involved with the Boy Scouts of America.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James T. Jeter Sr, and Mary McMahan Jeter. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Shirley Price Jeter; three children, Stacy Dawson, Marcinda Joye Clements and her husband Ben, along with James L. Jeter and his wife Heather. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Amber, Somer, Marlaina, Dustin, Benicia, and Lincoln James, as well as 3 great-grandchildren. Jim also leaves behind his four siblings, Susan Baker, Deborah Turner, Mona Jeter, and Bruce Jeter.
