Jimmy “James” Allen Abernathy

James Abernathy, 69 of Wilmington NC, was unexpectedly lost on April 14, 2024.
James came into the world in Flint, Michigan in 1954 to parents Jane Nadine Nations and Murry Allen Abernathy.
James was a well-known local piano tuner. His business name was Love Your Piano. He appreciates all of his customers and supporters since 2017.
James had a very fulfilling life from art, to crating music for orchestras, to being in the 1994 film ” She Led Two Lives”. He spent 10 blessed years with his spouse Pablo Abernathy.
James was preceded in death by his mother and father and survived by his husband Pablo Abernathy, a close childhood friend Susan Melrose Bremer and his immediate family members.

So sorry for your loss. James was an amazing being. He started tuning a piano we inherited around 10 years ago and inspired our teenage son to play. We loved his presence. We’ll definitely miss you James. ❤️
I have known James for 27 years. The pain of his passing is immense. He will be missed by many when they learn of his passing at such a young age.
James Abernathy changed the lives of tens of thousands of people through his previous work in medicine, nutrition, and psychology. The seeds he planted through his work will live on for generations through the people whose lives he improved and changed. As with all people, he will live on through his work. A talented artist, musician, and academic, people will never fully realize the great person James Abernathy was. From Hawaii to Las Vegas, San Diego, and Colorado Springs, I had the honor of knowing him for 27 years and will always cherish the good times. I’m so happy you found your husband Pablo and your life in Wilmington.
