John Charles Landon
July 19, 1942 - October 17, 2022

John Charles Landon passed away peacefully October 17, 2022, with his loving wife Kate by his side.

John was born July 19, 1942 in Pittsfield, MA to the late, John H. Landon and Agnes L’Heureux Landon.

He is survived by, his wife Kate, three sons, Jeffrey, Shaun (Sandee-wife), and Kyle (Mo- wife), and eight grandchildren, Brittany, Josh, Jake, Meghan, Noah, Ethan, Luke and Roary. Also surviving   John are his three younger siblings, Sheila, David,(Jean-wife) and Kevin (Judi-wife).

John served proudly in the US Air Force from 1960-1964, serving as an airplane mechanic. For the remainder of his career, John worked as a general contractor, first along side his father, then leading the business of Landon & Hall in Guilford, CT, designing and building exceptional homes until his retirement in 2004.

Upon moving to coastal NC in 2004, John designed and built his final project- a post-and- beam timber frame home which he called “Mayberry”. John loved fiercely-his family, his friends, the game of golf, and woodworking: designing homes, creating Shaker style furniture, carving and painting decoys and turning bowls.

A memorial service / celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.

    Kate and Landon family,
    Sending our heartfelt condolences for your loss.
    John gifted us with one of his decoys, which we cherish, and will be a reminder of his many talents. A lot of fond memories
    also racing at the BMX track in Guilford, which he lovingly built.
