John (Steve) Lambert Sr, 68 of Sneads Ferry, NC (formerly of Long Island, NY) passed away on December 18, 2020 due to aggressive bone cancer. Steve was born in California and preceded in death by parents John (Jack) and Dorothy Lambert and brother Daniel (Danny) Lambert. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Irene Lambert and children John Lambert Junior (wife Nathalie) grandson Jack and Erin Fisher (husband Jonathan), as well as brother Bob (wife Patti) and in-laws Patty Peterson (husband Robert) and Coleen Sutherland (husband Bill) and many nieces, nephews and their descendants.
Steve was a free spirit his entire life, a very talented artist and nature lover, an avid bicyclist, a true animal lover and volunteer in Sneads Ferry where he would spend many hours on various community committees. His artwork featured scenes of coastal North Carolina and the beauty he treasured for the last 17 years; he donated his artwork as fundraisers for local animal rescue organizations.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held next year on his beloved Topsail Beach.
He will be forever loved and missed by his family and all his many friends and supporters of his beautiful artworks. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Steve’s name to Western Ferals of Onslow County, the Nature Conservancy, Rails to Trails, or your local animal rescue organizations.
