Joshua Javaughn Maurice Brown
November 11, 1988 - November 8, 2024

Joshua Javaughn Maurice Brown, born on November 11, 1988, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina, on November 8, 2024, with his beloved wife Courtney by his side. He was 35 years old.

Joshua was a man who took great joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly when it came to working on and detailing his car and truck, sharing this passion with members of the CVB car club. His love for vehicles was well-known. He also played a huge part in the Wave Community.

Together with Courtney, Joshua found happiness in traveling and exploring new places, as well as spending time at the gun range. Their adventures together added joy and meaning to his life, creating memories that will be cherished forever by those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mary Nell Howard and Juanita C.B. Davis, his grandfather, Thomas W. Davis, and his brother, Eric Jordan.

Joshua is survived by his loving wife, Courtney Brown, children: Za’riyah Brown, Martez Green, Javyaughna Brown, Kamdyn Brinkley Brown, Mckenzie Brown, and Genesis Brown. He is also survived by his devoted parents, Sherin Brown and Eric Michael Brown, and his siblings: Juanicka Wright, Jerome Brown, JaNaa’ Brown, Shai Borom, Savannah Brown (Malik), Tanika Elliott, Marlana Shoshtari (Adam), Marlita Shaw-Brown, and Marlisha Smallwood (Shawn). His nieces, Kabreyah Brown and Kiajah Wright, will remember him fondly.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday November 16 at Northside Church 2501 N. College Road Wilmington, NC 28405

Joshua’s life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and dedication to family . He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
