Judith Marie (Arris) Limoges, fondly known as “Meme,” passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, in Jacksonville, NC, at the age of 79. She was born on October 20, 1944, in Willimantic, CT to the late Robert Arris and Elizabeth (Landry) O’lechna. Judy lived a life filled with love, adventure, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
Meme devoted many years to providing exceptional customer service for various retail chains, particularly during her time in Westfield, MA. She enjoyed meeting the public and chatting with customers.
Beyond her career, Meme found joy in numerous hobbies that showcased her zest for life. She was an avid bowler and roller skater, finding delight in the camaraderie and competition. She had a unique “need for speed” in her life which was evident in her love for fast cars and riding motorcycles, where she embraced the freedom of the open road. Gardening was another of her cherished pastimes, allowing her to nurture and create beauty from the earth. Meme always knew how to keep life fun for herself and others, she leaves us with unforgettable memories and countless laughs.
Meme’s greatest love was spending time with her family. She adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering unconditional love and support. Known for her kind, caring nature, she always went above and beyond to help others, she loved everyone as if they were family, which is why she was known as “Meme” to everyone. She will be remembered best for her invaluable advice and huge heart.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts forever: her devoted husband of 51 years, Richard A. Limoges; her daughters Mary Shea (Tim) of Westfield, MA, Tina Pfannkuch (Kirby) of Albany, GA, Kelly Bordwine (James) of Portsmouth, VA, and Kimberly Deslauriers of Jacksonville, NC; her son Allen Hufford (Lara) of Broken Arrow, OK; her sisters Linda Walsh of Jacksonville, FL, and Barbra Everhart of Pensacola, FL; and her beloved grandchildren Danielle (Dan), Crystal (Kevin), Robert (Stacey), Jerry, Kara (Donnie), Bryon, Austen, Karissa, Gabriella, Avery (Maggie), Tyler (Jazmine), Blaine, Miranda (Patrick), Bryanna (Joseph), Nathan, and Brennan. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, extended family, and close friends who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law Paul Deslauriers, and her brothers Roger Arris and Robert Arris.
A celebration of Meme’s life will be held at a later date and details will be announced by the family. Until then, we will remember her fondly, perhaps while cruising down a scenic highway or rolling a perfect strike at the local alley. Rest easy, Meme; you’ve won the ultimate race.

She was such an amazing person, who was so incredibly full of life. I only got to spend a little time with her, but Meme definitely left a lasting impression. Fishing off the coast of VA and cooking up an amazing dinner with her will always be one of my fondest memories. Fly high Meme!
Though life carried us in different directions, I often find myself thinking back to our childhood. One of my fondest memories is Judy would have to take me (her youngest sister) on her dates. I would have a blast, her and her date note so much.
I remember the laughter we shared talking on the phone for hours.
Judy was the keeper of our family history always knowing who was where and what was happening.
Meme was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
I admired the life she shared with Richie, such a testament to the love and commitment, truly something special.
I will keep all of our memories close to my heart. Rest In Peace my beautiful sister
Judy was a big part of my life growing up. Judy and Rich were very good friends with my Mom and Dad. I have not seen her in a while but I always remembered her. She was an amazing woman and friend. I hope she is resting easy now. Prying for all of her friends and family during this difficult time. Rest easy Judy.
