Katie Mildred Gray, 71, of Wilmington passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Novant-New Hanover Medical Center.
She was born on February 14, 1951 in Cambridge, Ohio.
Katie is survived by her children Samantha Nielsen (Eddie), Gene Gray (Lauren), and Scarlett Fox; grandchildren Brittany, Chris, Amelia, Drake, Sadie, and Adonis; sister Margaret; and niece Ann. She was preceded in death by her son Craig Melton.
Katie was employed at GE for 30+ years before her retirement. She enjoyed being outdoors, particularly to garden and fish. She was also an avid seamstress and an enthusiastic bowler who boasted many perfect scores. Katie will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her.
A private celebration of life will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the American Lung Foundation in Katie’s name.

I hated to hear about Katie’s passing. My heart goes out to all Katie’s children and grandchildren.
