Keith Allen DeVincentis
August 28, 1951 - September 4, 2023

Keith A. DeVincentis, 72, passed away on Monday, September 4 in Wilmington, NC, after a lengthy illness. The beloved husband of Cheryl (Boeshore) DeVincentis, he resided with his wife in Leland, NC. Friends described him as a “loving, kind and virtuous man.”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Michael DeVincentis (wife Nioka) and grandchildren Riley and River of Front Royal, VA; and by his brother, Ronald DeVincentis (wife Kandy) of Norcross, GA. He was the son of the late Eugene and Marguerite (Davis) DeVincentis of Trucksville, PA.

Born in Kingston, PA, DeVincentis graduated from Dallas High School (PA) and earned a BA in Political Science from Kutztown University (PA).

DeVincentis had a 30-year career as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. After beginning as a field agent in Washington, DC, DeVincentis served as Supervisor of White- Collar Crime and SWAT Coordinator in San Diego, CA; Assistant Special Agent in Charge in Denver, CO; Section Chief at the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, VA; and Special Agent in Charge of the Albany, NY Field Office.

After retiring from the Bureau, DeVincentis embarked on a second career as a consultant and analyst for private contractors specializing in Homeland Security. He was instrumental in developing intelligence “fusion centers” which integrated the efforts of local, state and federal law enforcement during the 9/11 aftermath.

DeVincentis fully retired in 2013 and moved to Leland, NC with his wife. He became an avid golfer and enjoyed the lifestyle of the Wilmington area, which he loved to share with his family and friends.

Although he enjoyed the opportunity to relax after a busy career, he continued to serve his community. He became a volunteer at the Brunswick Senior Resource Center in Leland and then returned to his roots in political science—with a local focus. He served as treasurer, vice- chairman and chairman of the original North Brunswick Republican Club. He then changed his focus to the Brunswick County GOP, as a volunteer for numerous local candidates, a poll greeter, precinct chair, and vice-chairman of the organization.

A celebration of DeVincentis’s life will occur in early October. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org to help find a cure for the disease.

    Cheri,
Karen and I are very saddened to hear of Keith’s passing.
While it has been sometime since we spoke, we often would think of you both and the fond times we had together from helping each other move into our first houses, working on building decks, to attending the plays you directed for the local Fairfax High Schools.
We will remember Keith and you and your family in our prayers.
