This is truly heartbreaking news. Laura was such an incredible soul. She was a deeply dedicated advocate, a skilled counselor, a creative student, and a person who exuded unyielding compassion, warmth, and care. It was an immense honor to know, teach, and collaborate with her in the UNCP Department of Counseling. I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Laura. We were in the counseling program together at UNCP and from the first time I met her, she was nothing but kind. She was very sweet and supportive and I always enjoyed being around her in class. She was an amazing person and she was an excellent counselor. We have really lost a gem! My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
Laura was a dear classmate of mine and I’m filled with much sadness and regret over her passing. For the past two and a half years, Laura has been a constant in our lives at UNCP, and I feel like I can speak for us all when I say we have always appreciated her insight, warm character, and humor. Laura, you are deeply missed and I’m saddened that we didn’t get the chance to celebrate together at graduation. I hope your loved ones can feel comforted by the positive impact you had on those you encountered and are wrapped in the warmth of memories you had together. Sending you all love, Courtney
