Leamon “Lee” Buchanan, born on August 18, 1968, in High Point, NC, decided to take his final fishing trip on July 4, 2024, in Bolivia, NC. At the age of 55, Lee left us all with a smile on our faces and a joke on our lips.
Lee spent 20 years of his life ensuring folks stayed cool as an HVAC specialist with Superior Mechanical in Randolph County. He knew his way around a condenser coil like nobody’s business. An avid deep-sea fisherman, Lee was happiest when out on the water, likely exaggerating the size of his latest catch. When he wasn’t reeling in the big ones, he could be found hunting deer or cracking jokes—he had a knack for humor that could warm even the coldest winter night. And let’s not forget his love for spending time with his grandkids. Jayden, Harper, Aspyn, and Leamon III were his pride and joy, and undoubtedly the audience to many of his legendary tall tales.
Preceded in death by his son, Jacob Denver Buchanan, and his father, Earnest Buchanan, Lee leaves behind a loving family who will miss his quick wit and hearty laugh. Surviving him are his devoted wife, Robin Buchanan; his mother, Mildred Buchanan of Supply, NC; his brother, Gerald Buchanan of Supply, NC; his son, Leamon W. Buchanan, Jr.(Kaleigh); his daughter, Samantha Leigh Benton; and his grandchildren.
Lee’s family is planning a memorial service at a later date, where stories and laughter will surely flow as freely as the ocean waves he so loved.
Gone fishin’, Lee. You’ll be missed.
