Leona Marie (Lacroix) Bingerman, 99, of Great Valley, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 29, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Hubert, NC. A native of Marlborough, MA, she was the widow of Bruce Bingerman, Sr. whom she was married to for 72 years, he was the love of her life. She worked briefly in the textile/plastic industry and then was a loving homemaker to her 7 children. Leona was of the catholic faith, she had a big family and kept them close by hosting family reunions on the farm on a regular basis. She loved to play cards, especially Pinochle with Bruce. She was very gifted at making beautiful ceramics such as vases, dishes, picture frames, etc. that she would hand paint.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Leona Tuthill (James) of Jacksonville, NC and Sandra Spehar of Great Valley, NY; sons, Bruce Bingerman, Jr. (Debra) of Swansboro, NC, Brian Bingerman (Sue) of Cattaragus, NY, Dennis Bingerman (Carol) of Stewart, FL, Kenneth Bingerman (Kristine) of Indian Trail, NC, and Brad Bingerman of Great Valley, NY; sister, Nancy Heckmann of Las Vegas, NV; 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; and a host of many other family members.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 6 siblings; son in-law, Pat Spehar and daughter in-law, Peggy Sue Bingerman; and brother in-law, Ron Heckmann
A private service will be held at a later date.
To know Leona is to know how laid back and easy going she was. She was a very sweet person who opened her home to anyone who needed one. All were welcomed to her.
