November 20, 1948 December 23, 2018 Lewis O. Bowman, III (Lanny), 70, affectionately known by friends as (BoBo), went to eternal rest on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Lanny was born in Alexandria, Va. on November 20, 1948. He proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in Vietnam receiving the Bronze Star for heroism in combat. Lanny was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was living in Carolina Shores, N.C. He is survived by loving daughters, Amie Hood (Doug) and Heather King; sister, Joy McDonough (Darrell); grandchildren, Tyler (Katie), Trevor, Madison and Trent; and great-grandchildren, Bailey and McKenna. He is also survived by loving former wife and friend, Donna Bowman; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Lanny was preceded in death by his parents, Earlena and Paul Lipp. A memorial service is pending.
