Lillian Pauline Minton
October 29, 1935 - March 9, 2024

Lillian  “Cookie” Turk Minton, 88, of Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2024. She was born on October 29, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY. She is predeceased by her husband Allen (Rea) Minton, to whom she was married for 42 years.

Cookie and Rea loved traveling and they especially loved sailing. Cookie loved baking and cooking for her family; and she was always involved in ceramics, painting, and sewing. In addition to being a homemaker, Cookie enjoyed working at Fisher Scientific and later as Town Hall Clerk at Sunset Beach. She often volunteered and loved making crafts for church fairs. She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Southport. Cookie had a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around her.

She is survived by her four children: Nan Frydland (and husband Mike), Linda Montgomery, Richard Oriez (and wife Stephanie), John Oriez (and wife Carolyn), grandchildren Shannon Oriez (and partner Gary Speed), Kyle Montgomery (and wife Hannah), Nicole Everett, Jeff and Kelly Frydland; and great-grandchildren Otis and Stella Everett, Payton and Ryder Speed, Freya Frydland, Lilly and Alex Martinez, and Benicya, Rosa, Owen, Tony, Gracie and Mercy Lakouetene.

A celebration of Cookie Minton’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, March 30, at the home of Nan and Mike Frydland, 19 N. 7 th Street, Wilmington.
