Marie(Mary) Desiderio was born in Ossining, NY on December 29, 1923 and died in Bolivia, NC on November 4, 2017. She resided in Suffern, NY until 2015. She is predeceased by her parents, Nicola and Elyse and three siblings, Concetta, Joseph, and Louis. She is survived by nine nieces and nephews, eleven grand nieces and nephews, and nine great grand nieces and nephews. Mary attended Ossining Schools and worked for many years for Allstate Insurance Company. She was an active retiree volunteering for Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY for over 35 years. She received the President’s call to Service award in 2002 from then President George Bush. She enjoyed a variety of activities including participation in the Seniors of Rockland County, traveling worldwide, attending theatre outings, and supporting St. Ann’s church in Ossining, NY and Ascension Church in Suffern, NY.
A Graveside service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 11:00am at St. Augustine Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
