Marvin Ben Broyles
November 22, 1939 - August 18, 2019

Marvin B. Broyles, 79, of Leland, NC, died on Sunday, Aug. 18, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Bolivia. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon M. Broyles, 70, and 3 children: Alexandra Miller, Richlands, NC; Aura Volz, Ellicott City, MD; and, Christian Broyles, Silver Spring, MD. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, the youngest of whom, Christian Marvin Broyles, 4 mo., is his namesake. Other grandchildren include Meredith, Abigail, and Sarah Miller; Aaron and Andrew Volz; and, Grace Broyles. He was predeceased by his parents, Haven and Pearl Broyles, Narrows, VA, and 4 sisters, Loretta Ratcliff, Kay Fleeman, Evelyn Shrader, and Jean Deeds. Surviving sisters include Vivian Forrester, Reidsville, NC; Judy Butler, Littleton, NC; Betty (Penny) Mullins, Mt.Airy, NC; and, one brother, Jerry Broyles, Ripplemead, VA.  Marvin graduated from Narrows High School, Narrows, VA, in 1958, before joining the United States Air Force. After a four-year tour, he entered Roanoke Business College, Roanoke, VA, and received a degree in Accounting in 1965. After several entry level jobs in the Newport News, VA, area, he joined Mid-South Building Supply in Alexandria, VA, and Beltsville, MD, rising to President of the wholesaler in 1971. Later followed some years in business for himself as MSM, Enterprises, Beltsville, MD. And then, a position as COO of Hagerstown Kitchens, Hagerstown, MD. The last 20 years of his working life before retirement, were spent designing kitchens for Home Depot stores in MD and Wilmington, NC. A service will be held at First Christian Church, Narrows, VA, on Sept. 7, followed by burial with full military honors.

    So sorry for the families loss. My Uncle Marvin will be forever missed until we all meet up again with our Lord. Out prayers go out you Sharon and the kids for strength, comfort & peace.
