MaryJane Schaefer
March 1, 1928 - July 7, 2019

MaryJane Schaefer went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.    MaryJane was born March 1, 1928 in Bryn Mar, PA and grew up in suburban Maryland where she remained for 45 years with her husband and four children.    She was a loving daughter, aunt. parent, and grandparent, homemaker, and employee and attended Grace Brethren Church of Clinton, Maryland.  Later, she and Edward retired to Tucson, Arizona and were active members of Calvary Chapel Church.  She spent her twilight years in Southport, NC where she made many friends and attended Christ Coastal Church and enjoyed the Southport Senior Center.   MaryJane loved the Lord and she was a blessing to her family, neighbors, and friends throughout her life.  She will be sorely missed.  MaryJane is predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Anna Frances Hackett of Maryland; her sons Thomas and Joseph, also of Maryland; her daughter Ann Hynes of Texas; and her husband of 45 years Edward of Arizona; and her sister and niece Bid and Nancy of Illinois.   Her survivors include many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; her sister Elizabeth of Florida; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Elizabeth Schaefer and her daughter Jean and son-in-law Kevin Turney of Virginia.  MaryJane’s life will be celebrated at Christ Coastal Church of Southport on Thursday at 3:00.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Christ Coastal Church or  the Southport Senior Center in
