Michael Owen Richitelli, 85, of Bolivia, NC, was born in New Haven, CT on October 2, 1933, the fourth child of Ernest and Gertrude Duffy Richitelli. He attended school in New Haven and joined the USAF in 1952. He married Martha Cramer in Spokane WA in 1956, and they raised three children together. Mr Richitelli served 26 years with the New Haven Police Department, and retired with the rank of Superintendent.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha, his much loved daughter Darlene Coddington, both of Bolivia, and his only grandson Edward Michael Coddington, USAF, of FL. Also surviving are his sisters Gertrude Carey and Ernestine Wisniewski and brother Robert Richitelli, all of CT., along with numerous nieces and nephews, of a large and loving family. Mr Richitelli was pre-deceased by his parents, his sisters Jean DiBrino, Janet Adamo, and Marie Bisighini, his brother Thomas Richitelli, two sons Edward and James Richitelli, and a grandson, Michael McKinney.
Mr Richitelli enjoyed a close relationship with his grandson Edward, of whom he was very proud. He liked traveling, camping, fishing, playing cards and games, and doing jigsaw puzzles with family and friends. He was generous and goodhearted, a loving husband. father, grandfather, uncle, and a good friend to many. He will be greatly missed,
