Michael I. Mooney, aged 80, of Carolina Shores, NC, and previously of Goshen, NY passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024. Born on January 27, 1944, in Bloomingdale, NJ, Michael lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and an unwavering zest for his interests.
Michael’s professional journey as a car salesman was more than just a job; it was a calling. He almost took on a different personality when he was talking about car sales, showcasing his remarkable ability to connect with people and share his enthusiasm for automobiles. His charismatic presence and genuine interest in others made him not just a salesperson, but a trusted friend to many in the community.
Outside of work, Michael found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, often spending serene mornings by the water, embracing the tranquility that nature provided. A devoted fan of the New York Yankees, he rarely missed a game, cheering passionately for his favorite team through every season.
As a proud Vietnam Veteran, Michael carried the values of honor and courage throughout his life. His stories and experiences served as a testament to his bravery and commitment to his country.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Thelma Mooney, and his brother, James Mooney, Michael leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Mooney, and his stepsons, Edward and Kurt Winner, who will forever cherish the memories and lessons shared with him.
Although there will be no services at this time, those who knew Michael are encouraged to celebrate his life by embracing the passions he held dear and remembering the kindness and strength he embodied.
