I am so sorry to hear about Steve. We were schoolmates and attended camp together. I’ll always remember the time he stopped on a trucking run and had dinner with me here in Illinois.
So very sorry to hear about Steven. We went to Hazel Avenue Elementary School together and were always in the same class. I have lots of memories of those times!
My sincerest condolences on the loss of Steven. I, too, was a classmate of Steven at Hazel Avenue School. He was soft spoken and very strong.
I remember the informal wrestling matches we had as children and Steven would always end up beating me. He was a good friend…only fond memories of those times…
My condolences to the Spindler family on the loss of Steven..Steve was a classmate of mine at Roosevelt Junior High School and later, West Orange High School. I shared many classes with him over those 5 years.
Steve was very much “a gentle giant”. We both took the same walk home from Hazel Ave,E.S. At first, because of his size, I was intimidated. And he was quiet. But after a few weeks, we got to know each other and we became friends. This continued through Roosevelt Jr. High as well, trucking up Cobane Terrace to Northfield Ave. on bikes. Good dude, R.I.P.
Steve and I were friends since first grade He was a kind and friendly individual. He will be missed. My sympathies to his family
My deepest sympathies to the Spindler family on Big Steve’s passing. He was always a very warm and friendly classmate . My fondest memory of Steve was on Home Game Football Saturdays. Steve Sachs and I ran the hot dog stand as a fundraiser for the yearbook and Steve would be playing tuba in the marching band. At the end of the halftime show he would come marching by the concession stand with arm out and Steve Sachs would hand off a much deserved hot dog to him after blowing that tuba……great memories! Rest in Peace
