Richard Lesink
June 12, 1950 - August 4, 2019

On Sunday, August 4, 2019, Richard John Lesink, loving father of three children, passed away at age 69.

John was born on June 12,1950, in Waynesville, NC to Leo & Aneta (Nellie) Lesink. Peacefully passing, dancing his way to Jesus in the arms of his family at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC. John suffered painfully for several years of cancer and truly fought rebelliously to the very end. 

John was preceded in death by his father, Leo Lesink, and his mother Nellie Lesink, his sisters Sandra Lesink Henson and Violetta Lesink and nephew Chris Henson. He is survived by his three children, Cynthia Lesink Britner, Leona Lesink Fowler and Richard Sean Lesink, his brother Charles Lesink, son in laws Billy Britner and Ray Fowler, sister in law Ranae Lesink, five grandchildren, Alix Maner, Abby Mariman, Leandra Schiavone, Leyton Dewyea and Luke Dewyea, niece Stephanie Henson, nephew Anthony Lesink and Landon Lesink, great nieces Christian Henson , Freyja Lesink, Averie Henson, Alicia Wynn and Haley Hutcheson, niece in laws Andrea Henson and Rachel Lesink and great, great grandsons Asher Dewyea and Rowan Schiavone. John passionately and joyfully spread his love of music and compassion to many, especially his friends and family. His free-spirited presence will truly be missed!  He will be cremated at Coastal Cremation with a private memorial planned by his family at a later date. All donations should be made in his honor to the Hurricane Florence Restoration Fund at Hampstead Baptist Church.
